Using Your
SIMPLY BIBLE PDF

In this guide, you will learn how to download, unzip, and import
your new SIMPLY BIBLE PDF files into GoodNotes.

Please note that this guide focuses on importing SIMPLY BIBLE PDFs into GoodNotes. However, most of the steps below apply to other apps as well.

1. Download your SIMPLY BIBLE PDFs

After purchasing a SIMPLY BIBLE PDF from our website, your PDF will be sent to your email and available for download. When you click the “Download” button in that email, you will be redirected to a WooCommerce webpage where you can again click the “Download” button to save your files.

Please note that the number of downloads you have is limited, so we recommend saving your PDF to a computer or cloud storage service so that it’s easy to access again in the future.

2. Unzip the digital files

Our files come in a .zip format, so in order to import them into GoodNotes, you will need to unzip them first.

IOS 13 or higher

Move your downloaded digital file into the “Files” app. Then go to your Files app and find your file. Tap and hold down until a menu appears. Select “Uncompress.”

If you are using an iPhone 5S (and older), iPhone 6/6 Plus, iPad Mini 2, iPad Mini 3, or iPad Air (2013), you will need to unzip your files from your computer or download any unzip app in the app store.

View our tutorial below for follow-along steps!

Macos

Go to your files folder and find your file. Right-click it, and select “Open With,” then “Archive Utility (default)” or use your preferred unzipping tool.

If you plan to use GoodNotes on your iPad or iPhone, you will need to use AirDrop or a USB to transfer the unzipped file to your device.

Windows

Go to your files folder and find your file. Right-click it, and select “Open With.” Then choose your favorite unzipping tool.

If you plan to use GoodNotes on your iPad, iPhone, or compatible Samsung tablet, you will need to use iTunes, iCloud, or another cloud storage system like Google Drive or Dropbox to transfer the unzipped file to your preferred device. If you plan to use any other kind of device, you will need to use a different PDF reader app like Xodo.

Android

The GoodNotes app is currently only compatible with 8-inch or larger Samsung tablets with at least 3GB of memory. If you plan to use any other android device, you will need to use a different PDF reader app like Xodo. You will still need to unzip the PDF file and follow the rest of the directions below.

To unzip the file on an android device, open Files and click the folder where the PDF is saved (it defaults to “Downloads” unless you save it elsewhere). Select the .zip file and then click “Extract.” (If you want to delete the .zip file after extraction, select the “Delete ZIP file” checkbox.) Click “Done.”

3. Import your files into GoodNotes or another app

If you plan to use your SIMPLY BIBLE study on two separate devices that have different operating systems (i.e. iOS and Android), please note that they will not sync with each other.

Open GoodNotes on your iPhone, iPad, or compatible Samsung tablet, and click the large plus sign in the Documents tab. Select “Import.” Click “Select” in the top right of the Files interface, click your SIMPLY BIBLE pdf, and then click “open.” You can also open GoodNotes and the Files app in split-view, click and hold the pdf in Files, and drag and drop it into GoodNotes.

Other PDF Reader Apps

SIMPLY BIBLE digital files are compatible with most PDF readers like Xodo, ZoomNotes, Noteshelf, Notability, and DrawBoard. To import your SIMPLY BIBLE study into a different reader app, open that app and look for a large plus sign button or “Import”/”Upload” button. When you click that, select the location where your file is saved. Once selected, find your file and tap it to open it in the app.
